Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to learn and grow as a creator. I’ve got some work samples that I’m excited to share with you. Back when I started to explore the world of interactive multimedia instruction, I started with Macromedia Director to develop interactive learning modules that were distributed on CD’s. However, the world of Instructional Development has changed since then. Although I haven’t gone beyond Level I and II interactivity in my personal development, I’ve had the privilege of working with some amazing teams that have delivered some serious Level III skills. Here are few of my instructional design and development portfolio samples for your consideration.
I spent a significant portion of my career developing instructional development for the military, adhering to the strict guidelines of the Army LMS for courses. Despite the rigidity, I was fortunate to work with incredibly creative teams.

Package Overview Project
This project – though it is in Portuguese, was developed as an introductory overview to a software package. The overview of the package from an installation to a more defined low-level overview. I was able to webx into the embedded file for external documentation.

Nav API for C Tutorial
This project had a different approach. It had to explain the code of a piece of software that could be deployed into an integrated development environment and still be very high level in the code walk-through yet still explaining in detail the defines and handlers that were built in.

22 Points of Inspection
This project was a very interesting path for me, in that it was the beginning of developing a career pathway for employees. It started at an initial hire, and introduced the basics. The program itself was in its infancy but would eventually incorporate career trajectory for new employees in a retail tire service center.
Adopting a French Bulldog – Full Project
This project is an interesting element – in that it is done out of exploration and design interest. I had heard about a few new platforms that were utilizing artificially generated creatives, and as someone that heavily relies on graphic design elements and stock graphics and footage, any expanse into the asset libraries would very much appreciated and expand the capabilities to illustrate novel concepts.
So I took one of the causes I believe in, Adopting French Bulldogs, and created a module for a non-profit element. I used the needs analysis and ADDIE approach to develop a full module that educated the learner with the specific requirements and expectations of pursuing a French Bulldog breed specific rescue.
Needs Analysis
Storyboard
And here you can see the entire project – so, a complete understanding of how a need evolves into a draft into a full project. It’s a useful element, to understand the Why of what you are creating – and see it work itself out from your ideas to a fully fleshed out project. This project was pretty fun for me as I got to spend a lot of time learning prompts and ideation for what were the needs of what idea I was needing to convey. Having a platform right at your fingertips that has the ability to create exact vision your mind has conceptualized is awe-inspiring.

I’d like to show you something – check out this old demo reel of mine from the wayback machine. It’s a bit small, but it provides valuable insight into Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), e-learning, or Computer-Based Training (CBT) at the time. In my opinion, everything changed when video became an integrated asset in our coursework.
These days, I have traded in Adobe Flash and Macromedia Director for Storyline and Captivate – the new go-to tools for instructional design. And let me tell you, Camtasia for screen capture and editing is a game changer! The course platforms we have now are continuously improving, making it easier to create engaging and effective e-learning experiences. With Articulate products like Storyline 360 and Rise, delivering information to learners has never been more intuitive and platform-friendly. Plus, the speedy deployment capabilities are seriously impressive! Also, as an added bonus, Articulate Storyline can package builds as fully LMS compliant, making it incredibly convenient to deploy to LMS’s right alongside a full HTML package.
